Credit where credit’s due
Deadpool and Wolverine is giving the MCU the rocket-fuel it desperately needed. Therefore it’s fascinating to read about the behind-the-scenes shenanigans over the creation of Wolverine in The Comics Journal. Personally, I tend to be with Mark Waid and Paul Levitz on this one. The editor of a work is someone who can give a germ of an idea and cajole the creators along, but to receive credit and thereby monetary percentages as well? That just doesn’t wash. It would be like Sir George Martin suddenly announcing that because he was the Beatles producer, he is entitled to co-credit on all of their own songs and with it, royalties.
