Interacter-Bubble Hearth

Before I marvel at the latest funky tool on the World of Warcraft armory, there’s been a few pretty decent reviews of Polar Panic I’d like to link to. Gamers Daily News, Game Chronicles and Game Vortex. We got a particularly warm and fuzzy feeling from this para on Game Vortex:

Be sure to check out the game’s great looking website for more goodies, including some wallpapers.

You haven’t played it yet? No excuse, there’s a demo. Load up your PS3 or XBox 360 and give it a whirl!

In the last couple of weeks, we’ve made some changes to the website too. The format is now a 960 grid, with a wider sidebar. We decided that the dual sidebars were just not really needed that much, and for a site where the visuals are so important we felt that sidebar content was just too weedy.

Make Me Jump and Wave!

The World of Warcraft Armory has gone all interactive. Now your character can be viewed in a Flash model viewer thusly:

Pretty funky, in my opinion. Visitors to your character sheet in the armory can control every aspect of the portrait, from position and zoom right up to viewing a limited range of emotes and stances. Hover over my Paladin and see what you can make her do.. within reason. ;)

For those who are looking at her and think “SCRUB!”. Ya know, you’re right… I don’t have time to raid, or spend my entire life running heroics to play World of BadgeCraft, so I just grind out the odd bit of rep and purchase a few BoE epics, and have fun with my hubby and other members of our small-but-perfectly-formed guild.

Because that’s how we roll.

Android App Artwork

This last few weeks have seen a couple of new Android apps to carry our artwork, both from Bluetrail.

First was Splaterz - Splaterz is a do-it-yourself layer for the Layar Reality Browser. You can add your own points of interest (Splats) via a web browser, your mobile twitter client or the Android client. Ninja Beaver created the ’splat’ logo icon which is carried through into the layer when used within Layar.

We also crafted the CSS for the Splaterz application web portal.

Alongside that, there is also a new app for Android called VIP Call. VIP Call will try and turn the ringer volume up when one of your VIPs call. Just in case they hang up before VIP Call detects the call a ringer tone will be played too. To make it easy to turn “VIP Call” off and on please add the widget to to you dashboard.

Ninja Beaver Studios created the portly gent above, who features both as the application icon and as a widget to enable easy use.

Polar Panic Published

Yes folks, if you are a proud owner of either a PS3 or XBox 360 you can now buy and play Polar Panic. Not too sure about the PS3 price, but on XBLA it is a mere 800 points.

From the official blurb:

In this classic game, players control a bear named Polar who pushes and destroys snow and ice blocks around a grid-based environment in order to kill trapper enemies, activate switches, earn bonus points and gather powerful pickups, such as ‘Time Freeze’ or score bonuses and extra lives. In story mode, players battle against a series of enemies in a variety of Arctic environments that include an icy wasteland, a logging area, the back of a giant logging truck, and the decks of a ship rocked by icy seas. Players can vary the difficulty levels, which change gameplay elements, such as speed of movement, and reaction and decision time. In puzzle mode, players push or destroy the blocks in order to open a door or reach an exit.

Other Polar Panic key features include:

• 3 challenging single-player modes

• 4 difficulty modes, ranging from Easy to Insane

• 3 action-packed 2 to 4 player multiplayer modes

• 50 mind-melting puzzles, with multiple block types, switches and more

• Beautiful Arctic scenery, with night/day and twilight levels

• Explosive Boss battles with dangerous weaponry

We’re very proud of the Ninja Beaver involvement with the game; which includes early concept art and character development, ingame story mode illustrations, User Interface elements, the official Polar Panic website and forum skin. So go on, grab some points, login and download it. You won’t be sorry!
