Awww….
A web browser that gave many people their first experience of the web is set to disappear.
Netscape Navigator, now owned by AOL, will no longer be supported after 1 March 2008, the company has said.
In the mid-1990s, as the commercial web began to take off, the browser was used by more than 90% of people online.

Netscape always makes me think of going back to Uni at the grand old age of 29 back in 1997, and seeing that familiar little “N” at the top of our wondrous browsers in the computer suites. I got my first PC around this time too with the little bit of compensation I had left from a Criminal Injury claim. It was a 486 DX266 with Windows 3.1 and Photoshop 3. Them were ‘t days…
Is it just me or is this screen grab I just got from the beeb a little… badly worded.
Oh Hai ! Yes it’s me. I do still exist, honest.
What’s new? I passed 40 years old (boo) and we’re getting married in June (hoooray!), more at Eleven.

I thought my RSS reader was broke at first when I saw a post from Pencil Shavings. “Sarah? Back from real life? It can’t be!” But it is! How exciting!
And 40 – it’s the new 20′s baby, haven’t you heard?
And congrats on getting married! So freakin’ cool
Heh, thanks. We’re getting married on the 17th anniversary of the day we met. Saves us having to remember two..
Real life has been taking it’s toll somewhat of late. I’m gonna try and be a bit mroe active on here again. These quick tags are acting a bit weird, sometimes there’s two sets and other times just one. Strange….
