Happy New Year !!!!!!!

I’m posting this now as I probably won’t be coherent later. Had a sliver of sleep, and still can’t see me resurrecting the galleries within the next 24 hours. Plus I’ll have to backtrack through all 320 posts and re-insert all the images that have orphaned urls since I lost the gallery databases.

Me drink beer, and wine. Try to forget that this was all caused by me wanting to have a local mirror of the blog so I could use a bit of spare time to make a more ‘individual’ looking WP installation. Two lines, and now into two days of repairs.

I’d larf if I had the energy.

Have a safe and enjoyable New Years Eve, and all the best for the coming year.

00.21: Yup I’m pissed now. All the best to all the people who read the blog. Both of you. ;)

Broken

Yup, lost the entire database at one point and had to re-upload and rename all the tables through phpmyadmin. So I deleted the whole site and started from scratch with a text file.

Don’t bother trying to access any galleries or image content. It could be days before I get that lot working again.

Namod ?

Ok, this made me chuckle while I was erm.. sat contemplating the meaning of existence. Thumbing through issue 39 of Games TM magazine’s ‘The Players section, I find an interview with Jack Emmert of Cryptic Studios….

When you start writing RPG supplements for ‘pencil and paper’ games, there’s only a slim chance you’ll break into the games industry. A knowledge of comics will help you, as Jack Emmert tells us…

Oooh, that’s piqued m’interest. Comics eh? Jack then goes on (in the interview) to talk about City of Heroes and it’s comic book ‘roots’. Dandy, it’s captured my attention for the time being. Then I come across this:

Okay, so who are his favourites? “Namod, probably,” he says after a short think. “Because of his dual purpose as villain and hero. Oh, Dr Doom of course, and Darkside. Yeah, he’s totally evil, but he was born to be that, so it’s okay.”

Namod? Darkside? I’ll take a guess that they mean Namor and Darkseid, and perhaps, just maybe give them the benefit of the doubt that a rogue spell-checker scuppered the article. …
