Hey I actually took some photos worth blogging for a change…

K2 revision 90 is now in action on the blog, and almost everything seems to be working just dandy. And we now have Ajax commenting.

Yup, I’ve done it again… before I even had a chance to restore and backup all the work I rebuilt, collected and re-did… I lost the hard drive again.
I must have some really shitty karma backed up somewhere.
Oh and while I’m thinking about it, or rather clicking on it.. BTInternet’s 2.2 broadband service is the most appalling waste of time and money I’ve ever come across. Since I upgraded from 1.1 I’ve had nothing but hassle with it. Somedays I’m lucky if I can even get the connection to stay active for more than a minute or so.. but of course it’s all my fault..
Me: Hi there, I’d like to report a faulty broadband connection
BT: Can you tell me what it does?
M: Sure, it’s flakey. Some days it’ll work ok, then other days I’m hitting the reconnect button every two minutes or so.
BT: How long has it been doing this?
M: Ever since I upgraded to 2.2
BT: Are you running a firewall?
M: Well I’d be an idiot not to wouldn’t I?
BT: Have you tried turning it off?
M: Erm… well I wouldn’t think that was a good idea
BT: Well it might be interfering
M: If it was it would have interfered with it on 1.1, 512 and dialup wouldn’t it!
BT: Well the line test is fine, so our suggestion is if you need to use the internet you should turn your firewall off while online
M: ……. o_O
I can’t really repeat the rest of this conversation.

Wow, I’ve seen so much great art in the last week I feel pretty fired up about getting back into the swing of things with Illo Friday. I still can’t quite believe my two weeks off are over already, and there’s every sign that work is going to be just as frenzied as ever when I go back tomorrow, so I’m hoping that they’ll be enough time to keep on participating…signs are.. not good it has to be said, but I’ll bust my ass to try and do it. The blog’s really suffered over the last few months, and I’ve got my groove back at the moment. Yeh! Let’s see how long it lasts.
The image above was done in Open Canvas (download link under ‘On-Site resources’). The playback is pretty short, the flickering was me hitting the wrong layer settings all the time.
D’oh
Speaking of Flickr…
I’m waiting to see if they throw me off for this one, but I just uploaded the virtual shelf I made for all our dvds using Media Man. I don’t really see why they should, I know technically it’s not in the TOS to upload non-photos because they aren’t an “image host”, but seeing as I have paid for a pro account, and I do upload photos as well I don’t see why not. There’s groups of rillustrations which aren’t photos either and they don’t get chucked off!
Plus I really like the idea of being able to add notes to the dvds.
If I could be bothered I’d make an image map on an html page, but I’d have to redo it every time we bought a dvd and that would just be silly…
Okay that’s all just a bit too geeky. I’ll shut up now….
