Start Spreading the News….

I’m leaving today, I wanna…

…..oh you know the rest. Can you tell where it is yet ?

Back on the 17th, hopefully with lots of photos.

I’ve been in a funk. I need to get out of it….

Edit: Oh and my hands are crap. I really need to do more basic studies, getting rusty as well as apathetic. Not good.

Target Practice

It’s been a weird couple of weeks, I had high hopes of doing all sorts of good things.. lots of sketching, re-working the site, getting some much needed fresh air and making a real effort to get at least partially fit. What I’ve actually done is another matter entirely. Okay, I did get some work done on the site, and have re-jigged the forum from the ground up, including folder icons etc… but apart from that I’ve mostly been sitting around feeling sorry for myself (flu) and surfing the net. Not very good really, and tomorrow I have to try and get back in to the swing of things at work, while still feeling a bit drained and nasty with this bug. At least I was bug-free on Christmas day, and really.. moaning about the flu in the face of the destruction in Asia seems bloody selfish anyway.

I’ve been giving Alias Sketchbook Pro another run tonight….

I’m sort of warming to it now.. there’s no doubt once you can be bothered to create a few custom brushes you can get some decent results out of it without too much effort. I still think that the lack of a ‘multiply’ setting for the layers is a serious flaw, and also the lack of portability with photoshop is a real downside.. you can save as a tiff and re-open the file in ASP without losing layers, but try porting it over into photoshop and you’ll find yourself swearing a blue streak at Alias. I know I did. I’ve found the best way for me to go about it is to create the rough sketch in Open Canvas, then save the file out twice, and work on one in ASP while keeping the original sketch intact as an OC file. I seem to be developing an obsession with creating archers at the moment. Clearly I have been watching too many films with archery in.

The referral log spam continues apace. I have no idea if this is affecting my bandwidth.. I don’t think so, as I’m just not widely read enough to be using all my current bandwidth up anyway.. if I was I suspect that it might be a lot worse, though I find that around 90% of the links in my referral logs are now spam. I did find that every piece of spam was coming from the same place which had the same message, albeit in a different colour each time, when I reached the offending URL…

Miss-proper ? Is that even a word ?

Open Canvas playback files for the above sketches can be found

HERE and HERE. As always, you’ll need the OC .exe to run them.
