Hmmm… Blogger is encouraging me to put Adsense ads on the page (well it’s encouraging everyone with a Blogger account). I must admit I’m not too sure about the idea, I’ve found that ads can be a little intrusive, image ads certainly are. I loathe all the animated ads in hotmail and now rarely use it at all. I much prefer the sleeker GMail with less bells and whistles. The ads on that don’t bother me, and if I do put ads on this page they will be in a sidebar, and no more than two boxes. I guess the question is will it be worth it if I only have a small ad box? Presumably you can take them down if you want to.
I’m liking the Blogger commenting system, but think it’s a bit unfair that only people with Blogger accounts can comment in their own name. The comment page that appears when you hit ‘post a comment’ (or in my case “Blot my copybook”) doesn’t even let the commenter know that they can use html tags to leave links. Perhaps I should try using a different one. I seem to remember one that added comments under the main body of the post that could be expanded. Maybe they’ve worked more on that to match the new posting pages feature.

HI Sara,
I use haloscan for my comments and it seems to work well or another I’ve noticed that seems popular is comments.
I’m glad to see the ad box gone from the top of my blog. The Blogger bar is easier to handle.
Hello Lovewine
I did use Haloscan for a while but I wanted to keep the comments on my own server, just in case anything went wrong. Thanks for the comments link. I’m checking that one out.
