That’s it, I’ve officially given up on the idea of making a Flash website. life’s too short, and what I want to do just seemed hopelessly complicated for very little ‘pizazz’. I didn’t really want to have flashy slidey things all over the place, just a nice intuitive interface with a slideshow style gallery. I’ve raked over templates and manuals and tutorials till my eyes damn near bled and not once did I find anything that would tell me what I needed to know to get the results I wanted. So it’s ‘hello html my old friend’..
It’s still going to take a lot of work to redesign, and essentially the design will not be hugely different, just more compact in ‘viewing terms’. I’m looking forward to it now I know where I’m going with it, so hopefully it should be going live in a couple of weeks. When I have my two weeks off (woohoo!).
I was over on Chris Tessmer’s site earlier, and downloaded the Open Canvas freeware prog. What an awesome little drawing programme! Chris makes playback files of his artwork, and posts them. So if you have Open Canvas you can open the file and watch it sketched on your very own monitor. It’s amazing, and frankly, inspiring. I’ve decided to try and follow suit when I post any low dpi sketches on here. I’m really taken with it. It’s freeware and allows people to do collaborative sketching online. Not that I have a clue how to do that.
In other news Mark Thatcher is suspected of providing funding and assistance for an alleged coup.… Mummy would be so proud. Lets hope he doesn’t have to make his own way to court.

That image looks great! Would you mind sharing your process for creating things like that sometime? It sounds like you’re short on time, but as you’re going to be using OpenCanvas it should only be a few extra mouseclicks after finishing a piece.
OC is really easy to use in network mode. All participants should select Network > Show Network Window. The person who will be the server should click “Stand by” in the Server tab. All the clients should enter their names in the Client tab, the Server’s IP Address, and then the button to the right (which is not always in English, despite the language preferences). If you aren’t messing with anything fancy like passwords, alternate port numbers, or firewalls then that should be it.
Enjoy; it’s a blast!
I should say more about it shouldn’t I. Truth be told I’m not really that pleased with it in retrospect, the perspective is dodgy to say the least. I’ve been been tinkering with some of my old work before deciding to put it into the new site quite a lot. It’s surprising how a fresh eye on something old can give you a new slant on things.
I always feel like I shouldn’t blog without an image and then sling one up and don’t say much about it. I’ll make sure I’m a bit more expansive from now on.
Cheers for the tips on OC. I’ve got some work to shuffle out of the way for a friend of my mum’s this week, and then want to concentrate on putting the new pages together.. I’m itching to get scribbling in it though!
hello there, to tell you the truth, actually I didn’t the slightest idea how in the world I ended up being here.
I was in MY blog space at: pizzofmine.modblog.com when my browser experienced a run time error (it wasn’t a long distance runner ‘nyways) and when I’ve hit the back button *poof* here I am!
I say, if this is intentional, can you tell me how I can rig such device to MY blog site to suck in visitors? LoL.
Actually I’m glad I did ended up here. I found that your career is interesting. I like the work you’ve done.
yeah I definitely second the opinion of you should put up a tutorial of how you do your craft. Wouldn’t mind to learn new things here. Well see you around and if you have the time do warp by my blog site.
3:)~> peace!
LMAO! I dinna expect you to actually come and visit me! How nice of you!
Awwhhh so the “black hole” thingy is just a coincidence eayy? d’ouhh I knew it would be too good to be true. Well maybe one day someone will manage to create such a thing *wink*.
Actually modblog did have anonymous posting options. But due to spam terrorist activities not long ago, I’ve disabled the anonymous posting options to prevent them terrorist from messing up the comments box and paste porn pics (I wish they had done that! but alas only links can be pasted here) or advertise something.
Actually I got chris’s link from your site too
Well my web doors are always open for you Sarah, you’re welcome to drop by anytime.
Ooh.. that’s interesting. I wonder if any images I link to will dispappear when the modblog select trial runs out.
/ Oh well, not to worry… there’s always this place, at least I have full control here. Mwuah ha ha..
I rather like the idea of having somewhere a bit more out of the way to have the odd whinge.
No doubt I’ll seeya around.
